WAVE (Online Monthly Verification)
Federal Benefits
The Montgomery GI Bill, VEAP (Veteran Education Assistance for Survivors/Dependents), REAP (Reserve Educational Assistance Program), Post-9/11, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Tutorial Assistance are programs available to veterans.
Federal GI Bill application procedure:
- Complete the program application requirements for Moraine Park Technical College
- Complete the Application for VA Benefits, Form 22-1990
- Supply a copy of your separation papers, DD-214 or if active duty or reserves, present a NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility) Form 2384
- If you have previously used MGIB benefits at a previous school, complete Form 22-1995.
All students receiving benefits must be recertified for each new semester enrollment. Please fill out the Moraine Park Veterans Checklist form and send to the Veterans Certifying Official in the Student Services Center. You must also notify the certifying official of any changes in course schedules and enrollment as they occur.
Advanced Standing
Students receiving or planning to receive Financial Aid or Veterans benefits are required to have any prior education or training reviewed for advanced standing. These credits must be reviewed regardless if the fees for these courses were paid by the student or were funded by Financial Aid, Veterans or any other funding agency. A veteran may be certified only for courses and electives required for their specific program.
Wisconsin Benefits
Wisconsin GI Bill
Wisconsin veterans may be eligible for a remission of tuition for themselves and for qualifying dependents of a Wisconsin veteran with a service-connected disability rating of 30% or greater.
State Veterans Education (VetEd) Reimbursement Grant
Wisconsin veterans may be eligible for partial tuition reimbursement following successful completion of full- or part-time coursework. Pre-applications must be submitted no later than 180 days after the semester start date and the reimbursement grant application upon completion no later than 60 days following the end of the course.

You should contact your nearest VA Regional Center, the county Veterans Service Office or the Moraine Park Technical College Veteran's Certifying Official for assistance in obtaining aid through these veterans programs.
