Complete the FAFSA
The simplification of the FAFSA filing experience for students and families has truly been the goal and we believe this has been achieved-give it a try!
- New applicants
- Create an account (FSA ID) on the Federal Student Aid website and assist contributors, such as your parent(s) or spouse, in creating an FSA ID.
- You will need to wait three business days after creating your FSA ID before completing a FAFSA Application or you will not be able to use the data transfer tool that makes the application process accurate and faster.

- Returning applicants (those who have filed a FAFSA previously)

- Independent students should have:
- their FSA ID created three days in advance
- 2022 Tax Forms and W2(s)
- records of child support received
- net worth of investments, businesses and farms
- current balance of cash, savings, and checking accounts
- If married, spousal information including social security number, date of birth, email address, and tax information if filed separately
- Dependents students should have:
- their FSA ID created three days in advance
- their parent (contributor) FSA ID created three days in advance
- 2022 Tax and W2(s) for both student and parent contributor(s)
- records of child support received
- net worth of investments, businesses and farms
- current balance of cash, savings, and checking accounts
- along with parent social security number(s), date of birth, and email address(es)
