Veterans & Service Member Priority Registration
Important Registration Information
Assembly Bill 201 gives priority registration to veterans and service members. Those eligible include veterans and service members who are currently active or have an honorable or general under honorable discharge and reside in Wisconsin.
In accordance with the law Moraine Park Technical College allows eligible veterans and service members (not including dependents) to register one (1) day prior to their standard designated registration date.
Priority registration does not waive any course or program requirements, such as prerequisites and program restrictions. Courses are available on a first-come, first- served basis.
How it Works
Priority Registration allows veterans and service members (not including dependents) to register starting at 8:00 a.m. one day prior to your standard designated date. Registration dates are based on your student status: returning program, new program, certificate, pre-core, shared or undeclared. Student Services will help you identify your priority date. On that date you are able to submit an online registration form.
In order to setup priority registration, please submit a copy of the following to the Veterans Certifying Official a week prior to the priority registration date:
- DD214 (Member 4), DD215, NGB22/22A, Reserve Credit report and Discharge Order and Point Summary, Commander’s Letter, Current Orders, a letter from County Veterans Service Officer, or a photocopy of your driver’s license with the VETERAN indicator.
You may drop off photocopies of your documents at any campus Student Services or submit via secure upload. (passcode: MPTC2018) These copies must be received 7 days prior to your standard designated registration date to be confirmed, processed and ready to take advantage of this option.
Moraine Park will keep these copies on file for future registrations.
NOTE: Federal law prohibits copying of a military ID.
