Earn College Credits in High School

College Credits for High School Students

High school students can jump start their college career by earning college credits while still in high school.

Several options to earn credit are available (see below):

• Advance Placement – High school students can take Advanced Placement (AP) courses which prepare them to attempt the Advanced Placement Exam.  Successful completion of Advanced Placement exams can lead to the awarding of college credit.  Click here for more information on how Advanced Placement credits are accepted at MPTC:  AP at MPTC
• Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) – Students can earn college credit through the CAPP program by completing college coursework available through several Wisconsin colleges.  MPTC accepts a variety of CAPP courses as transfer credit.  You can access the free Transferology system to see how your CAAP course will transfer into Moraine Park.  To receive Moraine Park credit, students need to provide an official transcript from their CAPP college/university.
• Dual Credit – The Dual Credit program allows students to earn college credit right in their high school through courses taught using MPTC curriculum.
• Start College Now – MPTC’s Start College Now program allows high school students to take Moraine Park courses (either on campus or online) and earn both college and high school credit for them at little or no cost.
