The industrial and mechanical sectors run on machinery. Step up to the challenge and keep operations up and running as an industrial mechanical technician with Moraine Park Technical College’s hands-on Industrial Mechanical Technician associate degree.
If you like fixing things and the challenge you’ll face when no two days are the same, a career as an industrial mechanical technician may be right for you!
MPTC’s Industrial Mechanical Technician degree gives students hands-on experience operating, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment in an industrial environment.
Upon graduation, students can seek entry-level employment in the industrial mechanical maintenance field. For individuals already in the field, elective course-work can be taken to advance your skill-set.
Graduates can also enter a skilled trade or pursue a leadership role in a skilled trade.
Students will be introduced to industrial maintenance utilizing both classroom and lab experiences, including hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, machine automation, pipefitting, engineering drawings, and electrical motor controls. Students will also learn concepts of component selection, mechanical power transmission, repair and replacement of failed components, alignment, and preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
Continue your education through Moraine Park’s Electromechanical Technology program and advance your career opportunities by extending courses into a third year to obtain two credentials.
