A Unique Training Opportunity
Moraine Park Technical College offers a unique training opportunity to potential students through a tuition-free short-term certificate program. Participants will gain entry-level skills in the CNC Machining field, while allowing them to earn credits toward a degree.
In addition to skill development, the program includes a paid internship to get hands-on experience that ideally turns into a full-time job opportunity. Moraine Park partners with businesses all over their district area to offer paid internships to the students in the program. The boot camp will provide essential skills to last a lifetime. Skills developed will provide experience in:
- Machining center setup
- Turning center setup
- Calculations of speeds and feeds for tool and material
- Identifying basic programming of numerical controls
- Examining drawing formats through the reading of prints

Fees
There is no charge for tuition. No income qualifications required. However, a $30 program admission fee is required upon admittance into the boot camp.

Boot Camp Criteria
Anyone can apply to participate in boot camps. Individuals must attend an information and testing session. They are required to attain minimum scores in Reading and Math on the Accuplacer as well as take a series of Mechanical Aptitude tests for the participating businesses.
