The community is invited to celebrate Black History Month
February 29, 2020
You are invited to celebrate Black History Month from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 29 at the Fond du Lac YMCA.
The event will honor famous African Americans who made a difference in the nation, as well as people living in Fond du Lac today who continue to follow in the footsteps of past leaders.
The theme of this year’s event — hosted by Ebony Vision — is African Americans and the vote. Admission is free and food with be served.
A black history display will be available for viewing all month in the main lobby of the Fond du Lac Public Library. A hair coaching session for families who have adopted African American children or have biracial children is also being offered at the library, beginning at noon on Feb. 22.
Those attending the Feb. 29 event are asked to bring a non-perishable item to help support local food pantries.
