Moraine Park Technical College uses myPrint as its print management system. The purpose of this system is to provide equitable and supportive printing options for registered students, encourage responsible printing choices, reduce the amount of printing waste, and practice responsible stewardship of financial and environmental resources.

Each student registered for any class at MPTC will be credited with a $40 one-time print allowance, which equates to approximately 500 black and white pages. Once a student selects “print” in a document or web page, the student will confirm the print job through a myPrint pop-up window, the document will be sent to the printer, and the charge will automatically be deducted from the student’s account. Students are welcome to add additional money to their accounts with a credit card either online using PayPal at http://myprinting.morainepark.edu. Below is a list of frequently asked questions.

What is my username and password?
The username and password for myPrint is the same as it is for your College student account.

What are the defaults of each print job?
All printers will default to grayscale (black and white) and double-sided (duplex) printing where available; students can change the default for each job under the printer properties option on the print feature.  Note that not all printers are color capable or will print duplex.

Will I be notified when my print balance is getting low?
You will receive an e-mail message to your @student.morainepark.edu email address when the print balance drops below $2.00. You can also check your account balance at http://myprinting.morainepark.edu.

Will I be allowed an overdraft if my print job is larger than my remaining print balance?
No, students will not be allowed to print beyond their existing balances.  Students will receive an immediate notice via a “pop-up” message when their balance is insufficient to print the current print job.  Students must add money to their account before the print job will process.

Can I check my print balance from home or at school?
Students can check their print balance and print history at http://myprinting.morainepark.edu  from any computer on or off campus.

What happens to my unused print balance?
The remaining balance is carried forward through each semester; print balances cannot be forwarded to other individuals.

Can I print personal items with my $40 print balance allotment?
No.  The Moraine Park student print allotment is to be used for school related purposes only.

How do I print a curriculum module?
All modules (syllabi, learning plans, student handouts, scoring guides, etc.) will be in your online platform course. If you are taking a traditional, face-to-face course, your modules will also be loaded by your instructor into our online course platform. Your instructor may put the course module on the colleges “O” drive. Check with your instructor on the first day of class.

Can I get cash from my account or use it to pay fees at the College?
No.  This amount is provided to ensure students have access to printing resources in order to enhance student learning and accomplish academic work.  It can’t be withdrawn in cash or transferred for any other purpose.

Can I print from my laptop on the campus’ wireless system?
Yes. Web Print allows you to print from your own device to any Lab or Library printer at MPTC.

Can I get a refund for a misprint?
Credits will only be given for printer malfunctions such as paper jams, smeared toner, garbled print, etc.  Credits will not be given for user errors or unwanted printouts.
Credit for printer errors will be issued through the library.  Bring the damaged prints to the circulation desk and speak with a staff member and your account will be credited immediately if the refund is approved.

Will myPrint automatically log off when I’m done printing my job?
No.  Students must log off of the computer to avoid others from using their remaining print balance.  Refunds will not be issued for failing to log out of myPrint.

I’m not a Moraine Park student.  Can I print on campus?
Yes.  Guests will be required to pay for all prints.  Library staff can show guests how to add money to a guest account in each library.

Where can I print?
Campus computers are set with a default to print on the print device located within the room or nearby area.
