VDI – Installing Omnissa Horizon Client (formerly VMware Horizon Client) on a Device

**NOTE: In 2024, VMware sold the Horizon product to “Omnissa.” Some applications may use “VMware” and “Omnissa” interchangeably.

  1. Open a web browser on your device and go to mydesktop.morainepark.edu

  2. Click the “Download VMware Horizon Client” link. You should be sent to the “Omnissa Customer Connect” website with downloads for various software.

  3. Scroll down to “Omnissa Horizon Clients” and click “View Download Components”

  4. Select the download that is correct for your device (scroll down for more options, if needed).

  5. Install the newly downloaded file per your device’s standard procedure. After installation is complete, return to your home screen or desktop, and you should see the Horizon icon. **NOTE: The icon may vary and you may have to swipe to the next screen, once at your home screen, on certain devices.
  6. Open the Horizon application and click ‘+ Add Server’. Type in mydesktop.morainepark.edu.
  7. Enter your college email address and password if prompted.
  8. Double Click the virtual desktop to connect.
