ACADEMIC ADVISING
Academic advising is an important part of your college experience. All students are assigned a program advisor upon admission.
Your advisor can help you:
- Explore academic and career goals
- Select classes to stay on track for program completion
- Find academic and support services
- Learn how to navigate your myMPTC student account
After meeting with your advisor for your initial Program Meeting, you should plan to continue to meet with them at least once a semester to discuss your plans and select classes.
WEEKLY TIME MANAGER
Having a balance of work, school, and personal commitments is essential to your success at Moraine Park. This tool is a great way to see where school fits in.
Enter in the number of hours you spend each day on the following activities. Be realistic! The time you have remaining will help you to determine how many courses you might be able to realistically handle. You and your advisor will work together to plan a schedule that allows school to fit in seamlessly, allowing you to manage all areas of your life.
CAMPUS BOOKSTORE
Our goal is to keep student cost to a minimum, so Moraine Park Technical College has contracted with Books by eCampus, a national leader in textbook sales and distribution, to be the online provider of textbooks. You can choose to:
- Order online through the bookstore.
- Order from another book sale site (Amazon, Chegg, etc.)
Your courses may also use Open Education Resources (OER). These are online resources at a reduced or no cost. Your course syllabus will provide you with more information if these resources will be used.
College Catalog
Moraine Park’s College Catalog is packed with information that will make your college experience easier. It is your official source for policies and program information.
