Medical Assistant Program Information

Core Information Session

Once you are registered for certain core classes (Lab Procedures 1 and Clinical Procedures 1) you will be required to attend a core information session.  This will be explained at your Program Meeting.

Solid colored scrubs are required as part of the program.  These can be purchased on your own.  A stethoscope and a laptop are required. Name tags are also required and are available at Enrollment Services on each campus.

Technical Standards

Medical Assistant students must be able to complete certain activities. Below are some of the technical standards. If you are concerned with your ability to meet these or want a full list of the technical standards, it is important to talk with your advisor early.  More information will be shared during the core information session, this includes acknowledgement that you are able to perform the activities.

Health and Other Requirements

Prior to clinical placement you must:

  • Have your CPR certification for health care providers.  If you don’t have it currently, you can take the training at Moraine Park.  I will provide more details at your Program Meeting.

You have already completed your Background Information Disclosure (BID) but you may need to do a recheck in the future.
