Tyler Soto, of Fond du Lac, will serve as the alumni speaker at the Spring 2023 Moraine Park Commencement Ceremony. Soto was one of the first students to graduate from Moraine Park’s Human Resources program in 2016.
After earning his associate degree from Moraine Park, Soto attended Rasmussen College and earned his bachelor’s degree in human resources development in 2017.
“I loved that MPTC had teachers that previously worked in HR and had real world experience,” Soto said. “I enjoyed the courses and was able to build my foundation at Moraine Park.”
Soto has worked in human resources for eight years and is currently the human resource manager for Whisker–an innovative pet technology company known for creating the self-cleaning litter box called Litter-Robot.
“Attending Moraine Park was an excellent choice,” Soto said. “I was lucky to obtain an HR internship while studying for my associate degree. Afterwards, the company hired me on, and I was able to pick classes around my work schedule.”
Whisker received the College’s 2021 New Partner of the Year Award for Soto’s work on becoming a Workforce Advancement Training Grant partner to run multiple Supervision courses.
“My advice to recent graduates is to be understanding, be patient and work hard,” Soto said. “Anyone can land a job, but building a career is a challenge. Give it time, show perseverance, and you will do great things.”
