Moraine Park Cosmetology students presented their final projects at their Miss America Fashion Show this week, July 18. The event showcased a culmination of their skills as they styled models from head to toe including hair, makeup, and pageant-inspired attire.
The students drew inspiration from different states such as Miss Tennessee, Miss Wisconsin, and Miss Hawaii; and movies such as The Parent Trap, Miss Congeniality, Barbie and more.
“It has been a pleasure getting to know this group of students,” Eileen Bouchard, Cosmetology instructor at Moraine Park, said. “They have worked so hard all year–especially today after taking two final tests and bringing their final projects to life.”
Preparation for the event included voting on a theme, researching hairstyles, choosing a makeup look, and designing an outfit with accessories.
“I love how there is a Barbie for pretty much everything, so I decided to create a Miss America Barbie for my theme,” Kiera Quinn, MPTC Cosmetology student, said. ”I thought the pink dress was very fitting.”
Congrats to Moraine Park’s Cosmetology graduates on a stunning fashion show!
