Nursing school can be challenging and overwhelming but also rewarding and fulfilling. The pressures associated with a rigorous course load, exams, clinicals and job availability can make it easy to lose sight of the art of caring while learning the science of nursing.
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nursing Students was created to recognize and celebrate nursing students for the above-and-beyond care and compassion shown to patients and their families, and the College is excited to bring this award to our Moraine Park Nursing students this fall.
The DAISY Foundation hopes that this program will inspire and motivate students to provide the best clinical skills possible and to impact patients and families with human spirit and kindness.
Nominations
Nominations for the award can come from any patient, staff nurse, fellow nursing student, faculty, or member of the community that the student has had a positive impact on. The DAISY award will be given to one fourth-semester MPTC nursing student each semester. Nominations are accepted at any point in time but may be held onto until the student is graduating.
A review committee will determine the DAISY Award winner through a blind selection process and reveal the recipient at their respective campus’ pinning ceremony. The committee includes the following Moraine Park nursing instructors:
- Maggie Laubenstein – Beaver Dam
- Ashley Gilson – Fond du Lac
- Casey Truse – West Bend
- Jamie Zwicky – West Bend
