Crystal Guell – Early Childhood Education

Crystal Guell of Beaver Dam enrolled at Moraine Park in 2022 and graduated with her associate degree in Early Childhood Education this spring. Her passion for working with children was sparked after using her free time volunteering in her community.

“When I first graduated high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do for a career. I completed my schooling and worked as a massage practitioner for a year. From there I worked in a factory for 11 years—they were long days with an hour commute. Once I became a wife and mother it became challenging to keep up with work and life balance, and I needed some time to self-reflect. I left my job at the factory to be a stay-at-home mom until I figured out what I wanted to do for a career. During this time, I spent my free time volunteering in my community. I coached soccer for my son’s team and taught Wednesday night school at my church. This led me to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. I firmly believe that everything has its timing in life, and my life experiences have prepared me and guided me to where I am today. In the future, I would like to get my bachelor’s degree to be a kindergarten teacher one day.” — Crystal Guell
