Moraine Park electricity and carpentry apprentices had an impressive showing at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Apprenticeship Skill Competition on Dec. 10 in West Bend.
In total, 46 apprentices from six Wisconsin technical colleges competed in four trades: carpentry, HVAC, electrical and plumbing. The competition was a day-long event with a four-hour practical competition and a written exam.
Moraine Park carpentry apprentices swept the podium, with Mark Singletary, AMCS, Inc. placing first, Owen Spitz, AMCS, Inc., placing second and Caitlin Anderson, Bob Anderson Builders, Inc., placing third.
Moraine Park electricity apprentices earned two podium spots with Charles Glewen, C.F. Power, LLC, placing second and Samuel Carlson, NEXT Electric, LLC, placing third.
The National Craft Championships will take place in Las Vegas this February and Singletary will have the opportunity to represent the State of Wisconsin and compete against other trainees from across the country.
Congratulations to all 19 Moraine Park apprentices who participated in the competition, we are proud of you!
