MPTC Partners with Forward Service Corporation

Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) in partnership with Forward Service Corporation has been approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) to help students earn degrees or credentials through the FoodShare Employment and Training Program (FSET). This initiative will focus on students in Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Winnebago, Waupaca, Waushara, and Calumet Counties enrolled in health science technical diploma or associate degree programs at MPTC.

The FSET program offers free services to its members to enhance their job skills and employment opportunities. Participants receive job training, educational activities, interview preparation, and hands-on work experience—key elements in building a successful career. MPTC will provide educational activities, oversee student case management and resource referrals and coordinate with Forward Service Corporation.

“This collaboration provides students with essential skills, setting the stage for both immediate self-sufficiency and long-term career advancement. By equipping them with the tools to succeed, we are helping them forge fulfilling, sustainable career paths,” Jackie Morgan, student equity and resource specialist at Moraine Park, said.

In addition, MPTC participated in the inaugural Adult Learner Centered & Equity Framework for Community Colleges in a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Network (ALCEF). This national coalition of community colleges is dedicated to exploring and implementing best practices for connecting students to local food employment and training programs. The initiative received training from the Seattle Jobs Initiative, Grant Associates, and the American Public Human Services Association, organizations renowned for their expertise in employment and training programs.
