Introducing our youth to careers of the future.
If there is one thing Moraine Park is known for—it is fueling our local workforce. This starts much earlier than most would think, and for some, their first opportunity in career exploration happens at Moraine Park’s annual Tech Knowledge College (TKC).
TKC is a three-day summer camp that has been a long-standing event in the MPTC district, giving students a fun and interactive way to learn more about a career field.
After a three-year pause, Moraine Park was once again filled with excitement and youthful energy during TKC 2022. Stella Marglowsky, a 7th grader from Hartford was part of that fun!
“My favorite parts of the camp were flying a giant drone and giving and getting a facial. I made new friends and had fun learning—it was not like school,” Marglowky said.
Each camper gets to select two sessions, Marglowsky participated in The Business of Drones and Salon Techniques.
“During the drone session, we built a real drone and got to take it home to fly after the camp was over,” she said. “My drone instructor, Jeff Stueber was friendly and helpful. He knew lots of the rules about airports.”
TKC is often the first time campers visit a Moraine Park campus and it is a great way to see their local college options.
“The College is absolutely so cool, the library is huge, and TKC was really fun,” Marglowsky said. “I got to see the college my mom went to and maybe, it will be a good fit for me, too!”
