Moraine Park Highlights Manufacturing Month

Manufacturing Month is celebrated each October and offers endless opportunities for Moraine Park students to explore innovation, skill building, connectivity with local industry experts, and the seemingly endless career options in manufacturing.

Throughout the month, the College hosts and/or attends workshops, seminars, and industry tours to celebrate the importance of manufacturing in our economy.

Here’s a quick glance at all the opportunities offered to our students and members of the public this month.

Manufacturing Month Speaker Series

Description

The public is invited to Moraine Park’s kickoff event on October 2 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the West Bend Campus cafeteria. The event will be broadcasted to room O.109C on the Fond du Lac Campus, too. John Berg of Dynamic Tool Corporation will address the public and manufacturing students. A tour of the new AIR Center will follow the event. Learn More

Discover Moraine Park Open House, West Bend Campus

Tom Roehl, Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology, will provide tours of the manufacturing facilities. Prospective students have access to other services, too.

Automation, Innovation and Robotics (AIR) Center

In January 2024, the College officially welcomed the first class of students into the Automation, Innovation and Robotics (AIR) Center. Funded primarily by donor dollars, the space allows for collaboration across multiple programs and fuels the current industry needs in our district.   

A tour of the AIR Center will follow the October 2 Speaker Series event with John Berg. An additional community-wide celebration and viewing of the new space will take place on October 30, 2024.

Manufacturing Matters, Grafton Area Manufacturing Alliance

The public is invited to attend tours of numerous manufacturing sites in the Grafton area. Moraine Park’s CNC Tool & Die program will represent Moraine Park during an event at Ram Tool in Grafton. Contact Craig Seidel at cseidel1@morainepark.edu for more.

Project G.R.I.L.L.

Students from local high schools will tour manufacturing facilities at Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac Campus, including the new AIR Center, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Our instructor, Tom, will teach you to drive to Robots in Quality and Advanced Manufacturing.

Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology

The Quality and Advanced Manufacturing Technology program uses high-tech labs to introduce you to the latest manufacturing technologies, preparing you to adapt to changes in an ever-changing environment.

The program emphasizes applications in problem-solving, teamwork, and automated manufacturing technologies.

Discover Moraine Park Open House, Beaver Dam Campus

Manufacturing instructors and career guidance counselors will provide information about manufacturing programs and careers.

October 16 and 17

Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo

Moraine Park’s welding and manufacturing faculty and students will attend the Manufacturing and Trade Career Expo at the Washington County Fair Park.

October 24

Tour for Program and Apprentice Students

West Bend high school students will tour the West Bend Campus manufacturing facilities. Following will be a tour of Gruber Tool and Die in the Washington County area.

Careers in CNC/Tool and Die Technologies

The use of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools is increasing throughout the manufacturing industry.

Moraine Park’s CNC Tool and Die Technologies diploma prepares students for an in-demand and highly-skilled career in manufacturing with the opportunity to advance quickly.

Manufacturing First Expo & Conference

Moraine Park’s welding and manufacturing faculty and students will attend the Manufacturing First Expo and Conference at the Resch Expo in Green Bay.

Manufacturing Month Speaker Series

The public is invited to Moraine Park’s Speaker Series on October 30 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the West Bend Campus cafeteria. The event will be broadcasted to O.109C on the Fond du Lac Campus, too. Ryan Rhodebeck, Strohwig Industries, will address the public and manufacturing students. A tour of the new AIR Center will follow the event.

November 13

Welding Competition

Moraine Park Technical College and the American Welding Society (AWS) invite high school students and welding devotees to the 2024 Welding Competition.
